BELLWETHER ROASTING SYSTEM

Bellwether makes a small batch ventless coffee roaster that would allow us to align ourselves with the spirit of “making” at MIT. Customers would get to see us roasting coffee every day and better understand the care that goes into everything we do.

The Bellwether is an incredible machine. It’s beautiful, does a great job roasting coffee, and is fully electric. If we have the right supply of electricity, we can be an environmentally sustainable source of incredible coffee.

When we roasted coffee in-house, customers loved witnessing the full process of roasting, grinding, and serving coffee. It allowed them to have a better understanding of the product we are serving.

We bought and ran the first Bellwether on the east coast. The pandemic, sadly, put an end to our roasting operation, but we are very interested in getting a new Bellwether and rebooting the roasting process.
